About Mary

Merging my passion for Eastern and Western medicine approaches, I went on to pursue a prestigious 1.5-year apprenticeship with Glenn Delikan in Five-Element ancient acupuncture style alongside a diploma in traditional Chinese acupuncture (TCM) (completion in early 2025). I found this to be the perfect complement to many years of Western scientific education. I now work with people in various stages of health, ranging from mild symptoms to chronic conditions, to help remove any barriers to healing and foster the innate intelligence of the human body.

My education and experiences have shown me the effect of stress on our minds and bodies, and the importance of approaching healing on the level of mind, body and spirit. Along with massage and reiki, and a personal interest in Jungian psychology and Richard Schwartz's Parts-Work which both emphasize becoming more whole by discovering oneself, all of these modalities inform my approach to each unique individual in front of me. My ultimate goal is to empower people to take their healing back into their own hands.

In my personal life I love spending time in the natural world, finding solace especially in the woods or ocean. This connection to the elements drew me to Chinese medicine and healing. Throughout this website you’ll see photos I’ve taken in various ventures around London, the UK and the world! In addition to clinical work, I also lecture a psychology course to osteopathic students focusing on stress physiology and health behaviour change to incorporate positive habits into one’s life. As a lifelong student I enjoy spending time sharing what I’ve learned.

I have been working in the wellness and therapy field since 2015 when I first qualified as a yoga and meditation instructor. I was led to this path due to my own health struggles that medical doctors could not explain, eventually finding relief through a combination of yoga, nutrition and therapy which began my quest for more. After completing a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, I applied nutrition as a private chef for clients in NYC who had various health conditions and wanted to heal through their diets. With the pandemic, I then spent several years health coaching patients who were struggling with Adrenal Fatigue. This began a deep-dive into psychology as I was drawing on counseling skills to help these patients while learning about stress physiology and the impacts of trauma on our health. I eventually followed this path to a master's in Health Psychology at UCL where I completed a dissertation in psychoneuroimmunology to further understand the interplay between our physiology, psychology and stress. I wanted to learn more about the mind-body connection, as well as psychological skills for helping people with chronic illness.

My Approach

I believe that good health starts with a balanced nervous system, as it controls every function in the body. In today's world, the nervous system is easily thrown off balance with the array of demands, information and sensory input that comes our way, as well as any form of trauma. When overwhelmed or under stress, the body moves from "Rest and Digest" into "Fight/Flight/Freeze/Fawn" and prioritizes making stress hormones for safety, neglecting secondary functions such as digestion, reproduction and sleep.

Psychoneuro-immuno-endocrinology (PNIE) is the science of how our psychology (mind), neurology (brain structures and chemistry), immune systems and endocrine system (hormones such as thyroid, adrenal, and reproductive) are all deeply intertwined. When considering research in this field, it is undeniable that a nervous system that spends too much time in Fight/Flight/Freeze/Fawn is going to lead to various disease cascades in the body, affecting not least the mind.

Our sessions will combine acupuncture, massage, reiki and somatic movement therapy to not only treat symptoms, but also regulate your nervous system on the deepest level and remove blocks to disease in order to heal from the root. Other wellness foundations are integral and will be addressed as well, such as diet, lifestyle and relationships.

Mary is magic! I came to her with low mood and low energy, often feeling quite out of my body and fragmented. She had such an amazing way of making me feel comfortable and safe to discuss some of what's going on, and then the intuition to connect the dots in my energy field.

Over the course of 4 weeks we met and Mary applied her attuned approach of combining acupuncture, reiki, massage, and movement therapy to me. I have honestly never felt so good in my life. It’s like the pieces all came together and things fell into place - I now have renewed energy and a bright outlook on life, able to manage the ups and downs so much more easily. I’m less in my thoughts and feel a sense of flow and presence. I have also never had so many compliments on both how I look and how I seem as in this period (an objective piece of evidence for the amazing impact of Mary!!). She continues to be my healing guru and I can’t recommend her enough.
